AirDrop Compatible AirPort Extreme Card On Sale Now!

Hey there, so we've started selling a new product: AirPort Extreme Card compatible with AirDrop.

Now what does that mean to you?
It means that AirDrop--the OS X Lion feature that allows you to exchange files between macs through wireless connection--can now be used with older version macs. Did you think that if you install Lion, you would be able to use AirDrop on any mac? Well it's not true. Here are the compatible models:

MacBook Pro, Late 2008 and newer
MacBook Air, Late 2010 and newer
MacBook, Late 2008 and newer
iMac, Early 2009 and newer
Mac Mini, Mid 2010 and newer
Mac Pro, Early 2009 with AirPort Extreme Card and Mid 2010

Any macs older than these cannot use the AirDrop feature.
However, this isn't because of the main body or CPU. It's rather because of the specifications of the Wifi card--in other words, the AirMac Extreme Card.
That's why, even if you have a mac model older than the list above, you can make it AirDrop compatible by using this AirPort Extreme Card.

Get it here for only $39.95: http://www.yourmacstore.com/internal-apple-airport-extreme-card-airdrop-compatible/

Hard Drive Shortage

The flooding in Thailand has caused a major shortage in hard drives. Leading manufacturers like Western Digital, Hitachi, Seagate, and Toshiba are all facing direct production issues as a result of the disaster.
On Apple's earnings call this week, CEO Time Cook said that he's "virtually certain there will be an overall industry shortage of disk drives as a result of the disaster."
Hothardware.com also reports: "Given the uncertainty, we'd recommend anyone planning an HDD upgrade pick one up sooner rather than later, combined with China's rare earth supply cuts, the price of hard drives should jump significantly in the next three months."

Jobs told Isaacson he had “finally cracked” the secret to making a great television.

There is a big product spoiler in Steve Jobs’ biography.
According to a leaked excerpt in the Washington Post, Jobs says he finally cracked TV:
“He very much wanted to do for television sets what he had done for computers, music players, and phones: make them simple and elegant,” Isaacson wrote.
Isaacson continued: “‘I’d like to create an integrated television set that is completely easy to use,’ he told me. ‘It would be seamlessly synced with all of your devices and with iCloud.’ No longer would users have to fiddle with complex remotes for DVD players and cable channels. ‘It will have the simplest user interface you could imagine. I finally cracked it.’”

Micro Sim Cutter is #1

At YourMacStore.com, we are recently seeing a spike in orders for Micro Sim Cutters and SIM Adapters.

Could it be because of the iPhone 4S?

http://www.yourmacstore.com/micro-sim-cutter-with-sim-adapters/

We also have frequent walk-in visitors to our store, searching for NewerTechnology products.
There was one person who bought 3 Voyager Q's. I wonder why he needed 3.

As shown in their website, we are the only California reseller carrying NewerTechnology items in store. So, if you live in the LA area, we strongly suggest you stop by and pick up what you need rather than ordering it online!

Yesterday, the store owner left for Japan, where he's from, for about a week or so. The ones left are Hikari, Koji, and I, but we'll do our best to serve your needs!
